For machine shops, fabricators and plastics shops

More of the right quote requests.Less of the office retyping things.

A website that shows buyers what you can make, and small pieces of software that give your office its hours back. For owner run shops of about 10 to 50 people. The prices are on this page.

01 What gets in the way

You have heard the pitch before. Here are the answers first.

Hiring someone for your website or your software usually means paying up front for something you cannot see, from someone you cannot reach later. This page is set up so you can rule me out without a phone call.

“Buyers cannot tell what equipment and materials we handle.”
Your machines, your materials, your sizes and your tolerances, laid out so a buyer can tell in a minute whether to send you the job.
“Quote requests get lost, or come in without the details we need.”
A short request form that asks for the drawing, the material, the quantity and the date, and lands with a named person instead of a shared inbox.
“Our site looks dated next to the shop down the road.”
A clean site that reads well on a phone, kept current every month so it does not slide back.
“Someone here retypes the same numbers every week.”
That is usually the first thing worth fixing. A $750 first look tells you what it would take before anything is built.
“I do not have time to deal with software.”
You should not have to. I do the work. You answer a few short questions when I need them.
“The last web person disappeared.”
Once it's paid for, it's yours. Your domain is registered in your name from day one.
“I do not want to be sold things I do not need.”
Everything starts small and priced. If something is not worth doing for a shop your size, I will say so.
“What happens if you are not around?”
If you leave, you get everything: your files, your logins, and a written handoff. No charge, no hard feelings.
“I do not know what this will cost.”
The monthly plans are on this page. Shop websites start at $3,500, and a first look at one office process is $750 flat. Anything bigger gets a price before the work starts.

02 Two paths

Start with the one that is costing you more.

Some shops need buyers to find them. Some need the office to stop drowning. You can take one path, both, or start with one and add the other later.

A website that shows buyers what you can make.

Most buyers decide whether to send you a drawing before they ever call. They do it on a phone, in a minute or two, and they move on if they cannot tell.

  • Your capabilities, equipment and materials laid out plainly, so the right buyers send you the right work.
  • A short quote request form that asks for what you need to give a price, so you stop chasing the same questions by email.
  • Built for phones first, because that is where most buyers look.
  • Kept current every month on one of the plans below, so it never goes stale.

See the work before you take my word for it. Sites I've built shows real builds for real local businesses. They are demonstrations, not client work, and none of them is a machine shop yet.

WEEKLY REPORTMonTueWedThuFriPath two

Software that gives the office its hours back.

Fewer hours retyping the same information. Fewer reports that are late because someone had to build them by hand. Fewer quote requests that fall through the cracks.

  1. 1
    First look

$750 flat for one process. I visit, watch how it's done today, and give you a short written plan with what the fix would cost. If you go ahead, the $750 comes off the price of the fix.

  2. 2
    One small, clear fix

A weekly report that builds itself. Quote requests that get an owner and a reminder. Records that stop being retyped from one system into another. One thing, agreed in writing, with a price.

  3. 3
Then I keep it running, if you want

The monthly service in the Full Partner plan below: I keep it running, watch for failures, fix problems, and make small changes as your shop changes.

What this is not
  • I do not replace your ERP.
  • I do not touch machine controls.
  • I do not need your drawings or production data to start.
  • I start with office and admin work only. Nothing that would stop production if it broke.

I have not done this for a manufacturer yet, so there are no results to show you. That is why it starts with a small paid look and one small fix, so you can judge me on something real before you commit to more.

03 Who you would be dealing with

One person. The same one every time.

No account manager, no hand off to someone you have never met. I build the website and the office software, and I answer the phone.

I grew up around my father's precision machine shop in Bristol, Rhode Island. I studied mechanical engineering before finishing a degree in business, and I've spent about 20 years in technology, including connecting healthcare data systems. I don't run a shop. I know what it takes to keep one running.

04 Before you have to ask

Three monthly plans. Both paths share them.

Pick the one that matches how much you want off your plate. Each one includes everything in the one before it.

Essentials

$149 a month

Your site stays safe, current and correct without you thinking about it.

  • Hosting, security, and backups handled.
  • Up to 2 small edits a month, such as changing your hours, swapping a photo, or updating a price or a paragraph. Bigger changes get a quote first.
  • Google Business Profile kept current.
  • A short monthly note in plain English on calls, quote requests, and visits.
Partner

$250 a month

For a business that wants the site to keep up with it, and one small time saver.

  • Everything in Essentials.
  • 2 hours with me each month for changes.
  • A check-in visit every quarter.
  • Seasonal updates so your site never looks stale.
  • One small time saver set up, such as quote requests that get an owner and a reminder.
Full Partner

$500 and up, a month

For a business that wants someone keeping an eye on its software every month.

  • Everything in Partner.
  • A monthly meeting.
  • Help dealing with any tech vendor or tool you already use.
  • One small project each quarter.
  • The monthly software service: I keep it running, watch for failures, fix problems, and make small changes.
  • Shop websites start at $3,500. You see it before you pay.
  • Every plan has a 3 month minimum, then it's month to month. Stop at the end of any month after that.
  • Unused time does not roll over.
If we stop working together
  • Once it's paid for, it's yours. Your domain is registered in your name from day one.
  • If you leave, you get everything: your files, your logins, and a written handoff. No charge, no hard feelings.
  • If something I built breaks in the first 30 days, I fix it at no charge.

Tell me what is eating your week.

The quote requests that go missing, the report someone builds by hand every Friday, the site you are embarrassed to send people to. Text, call or email, whichever you would actually do. No sales call, no pitch.
