If you send me something. The contact form asks for a name, an email address and a message, and that is all it asks for. It goes to my inbox. There is no mailing list to be added to, no CRM sequence behind it, and nothing is passed to anybody else. If you text or call instead, I have your number for the same reason anybody has anybody's number.

Measurement. One thing runs on this site: Vercel Speed Insights, which records how fast pages load. It is aggregate, it is cookieless, and it does not build a profile of you. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no visitor identification tool of any kind. There used to be a sales tracker on here that tried to work out which company you were from. It is gone.

Cookies. This site does not set any. That is also why there is no consent banner asking you to agree to them: there was one, it existed to cover the tracker above, and both were removed together. There is an admin area at /studio that only I can log into. It stores a login session in the browser that uses it, which in practice means mine.

Hosting. The site runs on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, the way every web host does. The contact form is rate limited by IP so it cannot be used to send bulk mail, which means an address is held briefly in memory and then discarded.

The live weather. The sky on these pages starts on Stow and then asks your browser where you are, so it can show you your own weather instead of mine. That prompt is your browser's, and saying no is a complete answer: refuse it, dismiss it, or ignore it and the sky stays on Stow. Nothing else on the page changes either way.

What that costs you, exactly. If you allow it, your coordinates are rounded to about a kilometre before they are used for anything: a neighbourhood, not a doorstep, because the weather services work at that scale anyway and there is no reason to hand over more. The rounded pair goes to the National Weather Service, or to Open-Meteo if you are somewhere the NWS does not cover, and it is used for one thing: asking what the weather is doing there. It is not stored, not logged by me, not attached to anything else about you, and not sent anywhere else. I never see it. The only record of your answer is the permission your browser remembers, which you can change wherever you change it for any other site.

Asking me to delete it. Email me and I will, and I will tell you when it is done. There is no form for this because there is no system for it to talk to. It is my inbox.
